Sometimes words just aren’t enough to convey what you are trying to say, this is where multimedia can come in. Multimedia is the use of several media to convey information. In computers, we have created a medium where we can display and interact with media such as text, audio, graphics, animation and video. This forms an amazing tool for the creation of multimedia productions where we can provide information, training or just pure entertainment in a highly engaging fashion.
Multimedia can be found in a vast array of formats, uses, and means of deployment. Mediatician offers design and production of the following multimedia products:
Multimedia presentations
Banner ads
Intro movies
Illustrative animation
Simulated video
Multimedia presentations:
Mediatician offers the design and production of full multimedia presentations for training, education and entertainment use. These presentations consist of a story or syllabus delivered through navigable modular sections, with subject matter presented in a variety of media such as text, voice-over audio, audio recordings, film footage, video interviews, audio interviews, pictures and so on. Presentations can be deployed on CD-rom, over the internet or an intranet (high speed connection is necessary). See an example in the portfolio page.
Banner ads:
Mediatician offers the design of banner ads for internet advertising. Banner ads should be visually engaging and informative with innovative use of moving images and text while remaining quick to download and replay. These are created using Macromedia Flash and can contain combinations of graphics, pictures, animated text, custom animation and flash video format, all optimized to keep to the overall file size small. These can be created in any of the standard sizes or a custom size if preferred.
Intro movies:
Intro movies consist of short visual or audio-visual presentation lasting between 20 second and 2 minutes. These can be optimized for use on-line, or packaged as an executable file that can autorun from CD-rom. These can play just once through, such as on the entrance to a web site, or they can be set to loop continually, such as played on a laptop or projected onto a screen at a trade fair or conference. See examples in the portfolio page.
Illustrative animation:
Multimedia can be used as a powerful tool to illustrate, or simulate a concept. In its simplest form this could be the use of audio or visual examples but it can also be expanded to the creation of dedicated animation or visualisation of a concept. See portfolio page for more examples
Simulated video:
Simulated video is the creation of a silhouette style animation from actual video footage. This allows you to keep the realism of video movement but reduce the file size down to bare minimum (the example right is a tiny 16kb). Simulated video is great for inclusion in web pages or banner ads.
